Founded by Kathy Cheng – president of WS & Co, and member of the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women Class of 2014 – Redwood Classics has provided marketing and high-end retailers with premium apparel, handcrafted in North America, since 2008. As a full-service provider, Redwood Classics’ entire process combines “traditional, handcrafted practices with state-of-the-art technology and computerization” from the fabric to cutting and sewing to shipping – every aspect of the production has been integrated in-house. The Canadian women-owned company is also deeply committed to diversity and sustainability. It’s a member of the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC), and engages various sustainability efforts guided by its “three P’s”, including its apparel printing company Social Textiles whose ink is 100% biodegradable.
