Through research, it has been uncovered that the hiring process can be incredibly biased and unfair. Unconscious racism, ageism, and sexism play a big role in who gets hired. Although Creative Niche has been an actively inclusive company since we opened our doors in 2002, our work in this area is never done. It is a continuous and ongoing commitment to learn, talk, grow and challenge ourselves to be better. In addition to dedicated semi-annual focused DEI training sessions we also have regular dialogue to continue to challenge ourselves to grow our knowledge, challenge our thinking and consult our client.

Our Inclusive Process

We post all non-confidential Full-Time searches on our website, welcoming everyone to apply which is a really simple and straightforward process.
Each assigned Recruiter reviews applicants with a strict focus on work history, years of experience, and technical skills.
Our ATS is data only and our search capability is based on specific data points which pull all potential candidates from our system.
Friendly and neutral use of words on job descriptions so all potential candidates feel welcomed and comfortable to apply. As a tool, we use Gender Decoder.
Each role we work on at Creative Niche has predetermined interview questions to ensure every single interview is consistent and thorough, eliminating the opportunity for any unconscious bias in the qualifying process.
We set diversity goals internally and with our client for each search to ensure they are considering all qualified candidates.

For Temporary or Freelance positions, we have a general job posting to encourage candidates to register and apply. Those available with the necessary skills requirements are contacted for an interview with a member of our Talent Team.
Each role we work on at Creative Niche has predetermined interview questions to ensure every single interview is consistent and thorough, eliminating the opportunity for any unconscious bias in the qualifying process.
Once an interview takes place and the candidate is qualified to freelance with our clients, we will consider them for current and future opportunities.
When we do get opportunities, we search on our ATS which is data only and our search capability is based on specific data points which pulls all potential candidates from our system.
We use email, text and phone to ensure we are able to access qualified candidate’s availability and interest.
We aim to present 3-4 candidates to our clients within a specific timeline. We are hired to determine the strongest candidates based on work, experience, hourly bill rate range and of course, availability.
All candidates are notified once a secure booking has happened with transparency on their hourly pay rate and instructions on how to process their weekly timesheet.
Our aim is to provide our candidates with diverse candidates for each and every temporary position.

As recruitment professionals, we understand that recruitment is complex, and many considerations go into finding the right talent. To ensure that we meet our clients’ recruitment needs, when we are engaged, we will always ask for the client’s requirements for the position(s) we are recruiting for. However, if we determine that the requirements provided to us could result, intentionally or unintentionally, in practices that do not align with our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we will advise the client of this concern, and request that the client revise the requirements. In addition to maintaining our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we will have this conversation with our client to ensure that we can provide the best talent by making certain that candidates who would meet the client’s needs are not unintentionally excluded from the process.
We will not engage in discrimination based on any protected human rights ground under any circumstances. If clients are not able to adjust their requirements for talent where we have indicated that there may be concerns, we may not be able to continue recruitment.
