Marketing Specialist – Digital Media Planner

Our client in the technology solutions industry is looking for a Marketing Specialist.  Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist – Digital Media Planner will draw on proven marketing experience, and will use their creative and critical thinking skills, solutions-oriented problem-solving skills and exceptional communication skills to develop unique customer engagement and interaction experiences. Work closely with the sales and product marketing teams to identify customer and segment market needs.

This role is to manage media planning through digital channels such as display ads through business and technology specific publications, as well as other traditional media such as out-of-home, newspaper and radio. The Marketing Specialist – Digital Media Planner will prepare and present media plans, proposals and analysis – grounded in insights and experience, resulting in successful media executions for the comapny and their partners.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare, write and present digital media plans, proposals and analysis that exceed stakeholder objectives
  • Plan, book and monitor media, while regularly evaluating and reporting on the campaign performance and metrics
  • Prepare and present evaluations of media publications, opportunities, media trends and areas of expansion/opportunity to the company and its stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder and supplier relationships through regular cadence meetings, providing trainings/information sessions, presentations and more
  • Strategize media buying plan and process in order to deliver results. Oversee the administration and maintenance of the media plans
  • Responsible for accurate and timely finance reports and budget control. Ensure stakeholder budgets are managed and on track
  • Support the creation of campaign post reports including providing actionable insights and learnings. Source and evaluate proposals from media partners as required
  • Assist with document creation: process, presentations, visual summaries, schedules and reports
  • Remain up to date with latest updates from major media partners and digital channels. Make recommendations on areas of opportunity and new media channels while continuing to proactively develop knowledge of the media landscape

 

What you need to succeed:
Must-have:

  • Post-secondary education – University graduate and/or advertising/marketing College degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in advertising, media planning, digital marketing or other similar
  • Experience within an advertising agency an asset
  • Customer service oriented. Strong learning agility, with a passion for continuous development
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Highly developed organizational and project management skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and assisting the team
  • Ability to develop and foster relationships with media partners. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint
