We are seeking a talented French Content Editor for an exciting long term, 12 month contract role with an established and forward-thinking financial client.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all French customer-facing content is grammatically correct, consistent and accurate, while adhering to the editorial style and brand guidelines. The French Content Editor also ensures that these touchpoints are appropriate and accessible for French-speaking audiences, and is able to make recommendations when necessary.  You would also be accountable for the collecting the final approval of the team’s deliverables after all necessary stakeholders have reviewed and approved the content and design. 
 
This role involves collaborating with members of the design, legal, and marketing teams to facilitate the delivery of quality, error-free content.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on a variety of marketing materials, customer communications and digital experiences
  • Participate in content refinement, brainstorming and concept development
  • Ensure content and communications are delivered in plain language
  • Collaborate with business partners to collect and incorporate feedback 
  • Review and revise work to ensure consistency with brand standards and guidelines and guidance from legal and compliance
  • Maintain a fundamental understanding of all products, including marketing language and the accompanying legal disclosures
  • Review French content to ensure alignment with the English intent, and working to adapt English experiences or create customized French experiences as needed
  • Be accountable for the final approval of the team’s deliverables

Must Have’s:

  • A degree/diploma in Journalism, Communications, Translation, French language or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of editing and proofreading experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian French including grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Familiarity with Canadian Press style
  • Strong overall communication skills in both English and French skills
  • The ability to establish good working relationships with various business partners
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities/tight deadlines and proactively communicate with stakeholders
  • A professional demeanour and proven track record of performance
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (G Suite), Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Nice to have’s:
  • Past work experience in French translation
  • Previous experience in the financial services industry
  • Experience working with Legal and Compliance team
