Communications Specialist

We are seeking a Communications Specialist to work with an award-winning Interior Design firm. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, has a go-getter attitude, and can work independently while wearing multiple hats.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new marketing and public relations strategies to promote projects, new design ideas and innovative work for the brand
- Research opportunities for new business
- Prepare proposals and presentations, responses to RFP’s
- Issue press releases
- Participate in the development of design competition entries, and research new competitions
- Develop and build relationships
- Build online presence
- Arrange speaking engagements, create press events and academic opportunities for firm exposure
- Initiate contacts and provide ongoing follow up with prospective clients
- Conduct interviews with former clients
In addition to these responsibilities, you will also assist in coordinating all work as required with other members of the firm and third parties; keeping up to date on trends; general sales and marketing assistance; distribution of promotional and marketing material; as well as adhering to the company’s code of conduct.
Requirements:
- 5 years of related experience; working in a design or architecture firm
- University or college degree / diploma in a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Negotiation skills
- Outgoing personality, with excellent rapport building skills
- Superb organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Proficiency in social media, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, website software
